First Year Orientation Talk – 28th February 2013

This is an excellent opportunity for first year students to find out what they can expect from their first year courses, and meet School of ECS staff. There is also a fun activity (building a tower with spaghetti and marshmallows), and a free barbecue hosted by VEC, Victoria University Engineering Club afterwards.

The schedule for the First Year Student Orientation is as follows:

3.03 – 3.10 pm John Hine – Welcome, talk about the Faculty of Engineering, and the role of the Dean of Engineering.

3.10 – 3.20 pm Dale Carnegie – Welcome, talk about the School of ECS, and the role of the Head of School.

3.20 - 3.25 pm Ramesh Rayudu – introduction to the work experience programme.

3.25 – 3.30 pm Craig Watterson – talk about pastoral care available to students.

3.30 – 4.00 pm Tower building activity

4.00 – 4.10 pm J.P Lewis – Introduction to Computer Graphics Programme / COMP 103

4.10 – 4.20 pm Peter Andreae – COMP 101

4.20 – 4.30 pm Will Browne – ENGR 101

4.30 – 5.00 pm Survival manual
