Project: Visualising Information on Surface of a Planet
This project will investigate and develop techniques for visualising large information sets using a 3D planet metaphor. The goal is to present information that does not have an inherent spatial quality in such a way that users can identify patterns and high-level features within the information. The task will involve determining the best way to map information onto the surface of a sphere, and the programming will consist of both graphics programming and graph-layout algorithms.
