Research Interests

I have strong interests in energy transitions happening at a local level within cities, regions and communities. The impacts of bottom-up sustainable energy initiatives, and the mechanisms that enable these impacts, I believe will drive decarbonisation and a more equitable future. My research will investigate the impacts of community renewable energy (CRE) projects and will be split into three components:
  1. Research and design of a CRE impact framework: This component will research what different stakeholders are trying to achieve with CRE projects.
  2. Collecting impact data on CRE projects: This section will involve collecting data on the impacts currently emanating from CRE projects within New Zealand.
  3. Investigate CRE best practices: This will look at what aspects of projects assist communities in achieving the impacts they desired.
