Abstract
Abstract: Wētā FX Rendering Research department is responsible for developing and maintaining in-house renderers, as well as associated technologies. In this lecture, I will present some recent developments including academic collaborations, small ideas with big impacts and longer term projects come to fruition.
Lecturer bio: Max (Jean-Marie) Aubry graduated from École polytechnique (France) in 1995, following with a PhD in Mathematics at École Normale Supérieure. After an early academic career as Associate Professor of mathematics at the University of Paris 12, he suddenly moved to Wellington, where he joined Wētā, first doing research in hair and plants dynamic simulation, then in rendering in the Manuka team.
