School of Engineering and Computer Science Seminar
Speaker: Patrick Lam - University of Waterloo
Time: Thursday 10th December 2020 at 02:00 PM - 03:00 PM
Location: Cotton Club, Cotton 350
The Software Engineering undergraduate programme at the University of Waterloo, Canada provides a full Computer Science curriculum which is also an accredited Canadian Engineering programme, in eight academic terms and six co-op terms. I served as Director from 2016 through 2019 and I will describe why Waterloo Software Engineering is special.
- Patrick is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Patrick is currently on sabbatical as a Visiting Scholar at the Victoria University of Wellington. Patrick is next scheduled to teach for the University of Waterloo in January 2021. That term may be remote, and so it may also be remote. Who knows? Patrick was the Director of the Software Engineering Program at the University of Waterloo from 2016 through 2019.
Research area is broadly in applications of programming languages research (mostly static analysis) to software engineering applications. Patrick is interested in developing novel techniques for program analysis which take into account programmer-specified information (language extensions, test cases, etc).
This talk will take place during the SPG research group meeting, all are welcome.
