the RCS is recruiting a team of fixed term project staff to support the library, museums and archives departments. We are looking to appoint someone to work as a temporary cataloguer within a team of three responsible for the retrospective cataloguing of the
library collections in preparation for potential decanting off-site. The project cataloguers will also assist with improving journal records and stock-checking to identify materials that might require cataloguing. The post-holder will be responsible for original
cataloguing and classification to an agreed specification. They will be expected to meet project targets, importing and upgrading bibliographical records as required and using international standards and tools. With the project running to a strict timetable,
the cataloguers will work as a team, fostering a cooperative and supportive environment in which milestones can be achieved. You will be educated to first degree level with a postgraduate qualification in Librarianship/Information Management (or recognised
equivalent). You will have good, appropriate cataloguing experience, including retrospective cataloguing and the cataloguing of medical or scientific materials. You will have the ability to work accurately, methodically and reliably to agreed standards and
criteria within project timescales; to problem-solve and think creatively; to prioritise and schedule your workload; and to be flexible in response to changing demands. Benefits include: •25 days' holiday and up to 4 college closure days •Contributory pension
