The Amitabha hospice is a volunteer service to all areas within Auckland.

"Following the World Health Organization's guidelines for palliative care,
the NZ Palliative Care Strategy and the NZ Cancer Strategy for Palliative
Care, we provide free practical help and companionship for those with
progressive degenerative conditions / terminal illness with specially
trained volunteers".
We rely on grants and donations to provide our service hence our request to
members of your organisation..
*We have a small library of about 600 books and would very much appreciate
it - if there is any cataloguer or retired cataloguer out there who would be
interested in a volunteer project of cataloguing our small library. Or
advising us the best way to catalogue our library. The library is situated
at 44 Powell Street Avondale Auckland. Ideally we would like the catalogue
accessible from the Internet so that once set up new books can be added from
a volunteer's home.*
