Dear Friends and Colleagues,

LIANZA Council is seeking expressions of interest for positions on the Library and Information Profession Registration Board for a term beginning in March 2015.

This is a challenging but rewarding role.  Board members provide both strategic direction for the scheme, and operational oversight; as well as reviewing new applications to the scheme and revalidation journals.   This is an excellent opportunity for experienced library professionals to extend their leadership skills.

The initial term of office will be for three years.

The Board meets face to face in Wellington once a year for a full day meeting; and through remote access for approximately one hour each month. Revalidation journal assessments require a time commitment of approximately 8 to 10 hours per month. Travel and meeting costs are covered by LIANZA based on its Expenses Policy.

The Board currently consists of nine members, including the Chair. Board membership reflects capability in teaching, scholarship, knowledge of Matauranga Mâori, and professional knowledge and practice across all sectors.
