Christchurch City Libraries offers the opportunity to discover, to connect and to play within a network of 21 libraries. The Selection & Access Team is a high performing and customer
driven team operating in a busy learning environment. We select, acquire, and catalogue print, audiovisual, eBook and eAudio material for the Christchurch City Libraries network.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and customer focused library professional to join our team. As a Resource Description & Access Librarian you will provide access
to library resources through cataloguing and classifying library resources to the agreed standards in order to maintain the integrity of the library catalogue. Our Resource Description &
Access Librarian roles have a strong focus on the cataloguing of monographs so your attention to detail will be a strength along with your drive for continuous improvement.  

To be successful in this role you will hold a relevant library qualification and have previous experience working in a library and information environment. You will be able to demonstrate
an understanding of cataloguing items within a database and have the ability to read, analyse and summarise content effectively and quickly. You will be highly confident using a wide
range of electronic resources, and have the ability to transfer knowledge from one situation to another.
