Subject: Notable New Zealand cataloguers?

Kia ora koutou,

CatSIG unite – we’ve been given a chance to feature NZ cataloguers in the next Cataloging and Classification Quarterly. I’ve just had an email from Bobby Bothman, who is a Library Services Professor at Minnesota State University:

You write at an opportune time for me, because a colleague and I are working on a theme issue for Cataloging and Classification Quarterly. We are looking for leaders in the cataloguing world living or deceased, who have had a significant impact on cataloguing and classification. We have a good list of names from Europe and North America, but we are missing names from most of the rest of the world.

Right now we are just compiling names. Would you happen to know of a few people in New Zealand or elsewhere in Oceania and Australia who might make good candidates? I would appreciate your input and/or the names of anyone who might also be able to provide insights.

I’ve only been around in the cataloguing scene for a couple of years, so I was hoping some of our more experienced cataloguers might have some suggestions? Any input would be most welcome!

Kia kaha i te reo Mâori; kia pai ô koutou Wiki o te Reo Mâori.

Nâku noa,

Nina
