The job involves providing library users with excellent access to a wide range of resources, and working with a variety of print and electronic formats. We are looking for someone with: · degree and professional library qualification, and minimum of two years experience as a cataloguer working with a cataloguing utility · thorough knowledge of current cataloguing standards and tools (AACR2, MARC21, LCSH, LCNA, Dewey 22) · some knowledge of other classification schemes such as LC Classification, and other standards such as Dublin Core · interest in new developments in information technology relating to cataloguing, in particular FRBR and RDA · reading knowledge of foreign languages, in particular European languages.
