Become a part of an innovative team at Wheelers, a large New Zealand library supplier providing outsourced selection, cataloguing and processing services.
Wheelers is seeking a professionally qualified cataloguer to act in a leadership role with primary responsibility for a library customer group. Cataloguers are responsible for performing a variety of bibliographic duties in the customer’s Library Management System, including original cataloguing and bibliographic record upgrades for all formats. Cataloguing is done according to national and international practices and standards (RDA, AACR2, MARC21, LCSH, LCNA and Dewey 23) as well as customer requirements. The Cataloguer will function as part of a team of professionals and paraprofessionals to ensure that outgoing materials meet company standards in terms of quality, timeliness and quantity.
The successful candidate will have at least 3 year’s recent cataloguing experience with an eye to future trends and possibilities, demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs and technology. The role requires a positive attitude and high level communication skills (internal, external, written and verbal).
The pay rate is competitive, and will be commensurate with skills and experience. Flexible family friendly working hours may be discussed at the interview.
Wheelers is based on the North Shore of Auckland, just off the motorway in Glenfield.
