Thank you for the links Chris and for the tips on searching for RDA records in the NUC. Auckland Libraries will find these useful. I have just checked and found that we have over 680 RDA records so far. Our answers to the questions below are: a) Any reactions to the records from other staff and users: No reactions or questions so far that we are aware of. This may be partly because we have chosen not to display the 336-338 fields in our OPAC. b) How the records display in your OPAC and how the new fields are (or aren’t) indexed: o We have suppressed the 336, 337 & 338 from display in the OPAC and in AquaBrowser. We have no plans to index these fields, although would like to look at the potential for adding them as filtering/faceting options in future. o We display the relationship designators in the full record only but are not indexing them. c) Anything about these records that you are having to change at the moment so that they work in your system: o We have had MARC updates 9-13 applied to Millennium and are in the process of having MARC update no. 14 applied (it is on our Test system currently). Cataloguers are changing the 264 field in RDA records to 260 in the meantime in order not to have it display as an invalid field. We are updating our indexes also but not for RDA specifically. For RDA, we only have the addition of the 518|d, |o and |p fields so far. We would be interested to know if other libraries are or plan to index other fields. d) Anything about these records that you have questions about and are wondering how or whether to edit: We are bound to have questions in time but do not so far at the moment as far I am aware. The three Auckland Libraries team leaders have started work on an RDA copy-editing cheat sheet for our cataloguers. We hope to complete this soon and will be happy to share.
