Hello,
I have a cataloguing query and wondered if anyone can help…
I have a foreign language book, which has been identified as Syriac Aramaic, in Estrangela. A colleague thinks this is similar to the works around Manichaeism, a religion founded in Persia in the 3rd century.
This book was probably bound in England, mid-late 19th century, and the only English being a small label for “Watkins binder”, who seemed to work with religious texts in foreign languages in late 19th C.
Attached are a few photos of the title page, last page, other text and the cover.
If anyone might be able to help me translate the title and imprint, please get in touch!
Kind regards,
Tamsyn
