Hello,

I am a member of the Cataloguing Ethics Steering Committee and recently published an article on the Cataloguing Code of Ethics 2021

In the article I review the document's use since publication and consider how it might evolve.

As a Committee we have continued since 2021 to advocate for the use of the Code by cataloguers and metadata managers globally.

We have been so grateful for the dedication and support of colleagues in South Africa, Australia and Canada, amongst many others, who have considered the Code's applicability to their particular historical contexts.

These national discussions and consultations have resulted in essential feedback confirming our view that the next iteration of the Code should be written with the co-operation of IFLA's international membership base - so that the Code can be representative of more nations and peoples.

Whilst we move to engage IFLA  with this vision it would be wonderful to receive the views of cataloguers and metadata managers in New Zealand on the Code.

Feedback can be sent to me for distribution to the CESC.

Kind regards,

Jane Daniels - Cataloguing Ethics Steering Committee - UK Representative.
