[Apologies for cross-posting]
Happy new year! We hope you’ve had a good break and are raring to tackle 2011 which will, as usual, present us all with a variety of opportunities and obstacles.
To start the year prepared, join us in Wellington for a
two-day forum.
This is the first time in several years that we will have the opportunity to get together and learn new, practical skills to help you in your day-to work, to increase your knowledge of what is happening in the wider library
community, and to share experiences with colleagues.
As Te Puna partners, this is your chance to have your say in how we can together make further improvements to the National Union Catalogue (NUC), and other services, over the next few years. Te Puna is a collaborative effort
and we want to work with you to ensure that you are getting what you need out of it.
Cataloguers
Come and find out more about RDA so you are ready to go mid-year when the results of the American trial are due.
Interloan
The VDX is being upgraded so come and have a look at what has changed and find out how you can streamline your interloan processes.
The
programme includes an exciting mix of workshops and speakers, including Lynn Silipigni Connaway from OCLC who will be presenting the results of her research into changing user patterns for information discovery. Debbie Campbell of National Library Australia
will also be presenting, this time on Australian trends in interloan and cataloguing areas.
We expect our speakers and workshops will provide great insight into the issues and opportunities we all face - information which will be instrumental in helping us determine Te Puna’s future.
Action
Registrations close on 11 March 2011 so be in quick to secure your place as
places are limited.
Looking forward to seeing you in Wellington on 31 March and 1 April 2011. If you have any questions in the meantime, be sure to
contact us.
Regards
Te Puna Services team
