Assistant Librarian - Cataloguing Department, General Library. The University of Auckland Library The University of Auckland Library has a vacancy for a cataloguer to perform copy cataloguing and simple original cataloguing as part of a professional team. Library Auckland Applicants should have a degree and library qualification, plus familiarity with the following basic cataloguing tools: MARC21, AACR2, LCNA, LCSH, DDC22. Experience in using Te Puna and Voyager databases would be an advantage. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as is competence in the use of computer applications and databases. An interest in new developments in information technology relating to cataloguing is also sought. A good standard of English is needed, and knowledge of other languages would be an advantage. This position would also suit someone who is newly qualified or almost finished the library qualifications, as excellent training will be provided.
