26/07/2010 12:53 p.m. >>> Dear colleagues
OCLC has released a policy statement on RDA cataloguing in WorldCat during the U.S. testing - http://www.oclc.org/us/en/rda/policy.htm As part of U.S. testing, some RDA records will be added to WorldCat between October and December. Australian libraries are not participating in this testing; however those that use WorldCat may encounter some of these records. The statement includes WorldCat protocols for record creation and editing during the test period. Libraries Australia is committed to implementing the MARC21 changes required to support RDA well in advance of the Australian RDA implementation date. Libraries Australia plans to implement the MARC21 changes in early 2011, until then AACR2 remains the standard for records in Libraries Australia.
