Things You Must Already Know
The course assumes that you are familiar with or have taken courses that have dealt with the following topics:
- Binary representation of numbers
- Basic logic or Boolean algebra
- Computer program design
- Java programming
Computer program design and Java programming are essentially covered in COMP 102 and COMP 103, courses that you should have taken before XMUT 241 (NWEN 241). If you want to brush up on your knowledge of binary representation and basic logic, this online reference provides a good overview:

Set Your Password
To submit your assignments, you need to log into the online submission system with your ECS account. Your account has already been set up. You only need to set a password.
You must go to
https://ecs.victoria.ac.nz/register and fill in the "
Guest/Other" part of the identification screen.
Your username will be
xmut_
and your ID, (for example:
xmut_1712409121
) and the activation code is your student-ID (for example
1712409121
). Then you can set a password for your login.
