ENZCon 2016 will be held in the Laby building at the centrally-located Kelburn Campus of Victoria University of Wellington: https://goo.gl/maps/5WLy4oxYkUq

Accommodation suggestions
There are numerous hotels and backpacker-type accommodation options available within a short walk of the venue. An example search query may be viewed here: https://goo.gl/VJSsxJ

Additionally, Victoria University of Wellington has a small number of rooms available for hire. These rooms (equipped with a king-sized single bed and shared facilities) are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • VUW Accommodation Location: Boulcott Street
  • VUW Accommodation Facilities: dining room, games room, bathrooms on each floor, common rooms with kitchenettes on each floor, laundry room
  • VUW Accommodation King single price: $75 per night

These bookings are managed by VUW Accommodation Services, and must be coordinated by the conference organiser. Please contact the ENZCon organiser for assistance in coordinating a booking.

For those seeking other options priced similarly to University residence halls, the following backpacker-type accommodation options are suggested, and are collectively within a 20 minute walk to the Kelburn Campus:

Getting to Kelburn Campus:
To access the Kelburn campus from central Wellington, you may find a number of helpful shortcuts to the campus on this map: http://www.victoria.ac.nz/students/campus/public-transport/pedestrian-shortcuts-back.pdf

For those not wishing to walk to the campus (as it does require a short but invigorating uphill climb), you may use one of the several available bus routes or taxis (described in the following section). For those staying in and around the Lambdon Quay area of Wellington, you may also make use of the iconic Wellington Cable Car which terminates in the upper Botanical Gardens (an easy short walk to the Kelburn campus). https://www.wellingtoncablecar.co.nz/English/Home.html

Getting around Wellington:
Wellington’s bus network is a good way to navigate the city. For easy access to Victoria’s Kelburn campus, the following buses are recommended:

Airport access:
For those flying in to Wellington’s airport, the Airport Flyer bus provides a quick trip back and forth into the central city. https://www.metlink.org.nz/timetables/bus/91/outbound
