Biography
Gustav Eje Henter is spending the first half of 2011 as a visiting PhD student at the VUW CaSP group, working with Bastiaan Kleijn and Marcus Frean. Gustav received his MSc in Engineering Physics from KTH - The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden in 2007. Since May that year he has been a PhD student at the Sound and Image Processing laboratory (SIP) at KTH. Gustav is currently part of the Listening Talker (LISTA) EU-project, investigating techniques for improving dynamical process models such as Markov chains and HMMs, with applications to speech synthesis. His scientific interests encompass a variety of aspects of general machine learning, statistical models, and information theory, for applications both inside and outside of sound and image processing. Aside from dynamical processes and Markov models, example interests include nonparametric regression (the Gaussian process), matrix factorization techniques (NMF, GPCA), and ideas such as the information bottleneck.I | Attachment | Action | Size | Date | Who | Comment |
