Hi everyone, Following the July meeting there are three follow-up proposals out for review for the November meeting<https://www.rdatoolkit.org/rsc/2026savethedates> of the RSC already. If possible, It would be wonderful to have feedback sent to me by Wednesday 30 September. RSC/ExamplesEditor/2026/3 Proposal to revise guidance chapter section Introduction to RDA: Examples This proposal recommends the addition of a new paragraph in the guidance chapter section Introduction to RDA: Examples to clarify how and when string encoding schemes are used in examples in the RDA Toolkit. The proposal is here RSC-ExamplesEditor-2026-2.pdf<https://www.rdatoolkit.org/sites/default/files/uploads/RSC-ExamplesEditor-2026-2.pdf>. There is also a new item about this and the below proposal here For Constituency Review: Two Proposals from the RDA Examples Editor | ALA RDA Toolkit<https://www.rdatoolkit.org/news/rsc/constituency-review-two-proposals-rda-examples-editor> RSC/ExamplesEditor/2026/3 Proposal to add condition options regarding preferred recording source in Data provenance: Recording a source of metadata that is a manifestation that is being described This is a follow up proposal to RSC/ExamplesEditor/2026/1. You can read a summary of the responses and discussion here RSC-ExamplesEditor-2026-1.pdf<https://www.rdatoolkit.org/sites/default/files/uploads/RSC-ExamplesEditor-2026-1.pdf> It proposes to add a new condition option to record metadata from a source on a manifestation in which information is most formally presented. This will allow cataloguers more flexibility and does not specify an order of preference that may not apply to all cultural and historical contexts The full proposal is here RSC-ExamplesEditor-2026-3.pdf<https://www.rdatoolkit.org/sites/default/files/uploads/RSC-ExamplesEditor-2026-3.pdf> RSC/TranslationsTLO/2026/3 Proposal to revise engraver agent, etc. This is likewise a follow-up proposal after feedback and discussion from the last meeting RSC_TranslationsTLO_2026_2_decisions.pdf<https://www.rdatoolkit.org/sites/default/files/uploads/RSC_TranslationsTLO_2026_2_decisions.pdf> This proposal clarifies the definitions of engraver agent etc to make the distinction between wood engraver, woodcutter and engraver clear. The full proposal is here: RSC_TranslationsTLO_2026_3_0.pdf<https://www.rdatoolkit.org/sites/default/files/uploads/RSC_TranslationsTLO_2026_3_0.pdf> We are also expecting a few more proposals from the Technical Working Group relating to soft deprecated elements to be released soon. I will circulate these when they are posted. Let me know if you have any questions, need any more information - keep an eye out for an email about the other proposals.
