Would you like to attend this year's LIANZA conference - for free??
CatSIG is offering sponsorship for one member to attend the LIANZA Conference 2008, Poropitia Outside the Box. This will be held at the SKYCITY Convention Centre, Auckland, New Zealand, from Sunday 2 to Wednesday 5 November 2008.
Sponsorship will cover the registration fee ($600 early-bird rate) and include travel and accommodation costs.
* You must be a CatSIG member to apply (or be willing to become one).
* We particularly welcome applications from "new" cataloguers, including those studying cataloguing with Victoria University and The Open Polytechnic.
* We are looking to send someone who would gain personal benefits from attendance, and who could potentially pass on these benefits to other CatSIG members.
In your application (1-2 paragraphs) please give your reasons for wishing to attend the conference, the year you last attended a LIANZA conference, your background and work experience, and how you would benefit professionally. You must also provide written confirmation from your employer that, if successful, you will be given leave to attend.
The successful applicant will be required to write a short report which will be included in Catapult - CatSIG's quarterly newsletter.
