Wheelers is looking for professionally qualified Cataloguers to join our
team.
Wheelers is New Zealand's leading library supplier and provider of
outsourced selection, cataloguing and processing services and the business
is continuing to grow.
We offer you the opportunity to work with an innovative company dedicated to
providing excellent service.
Our main client base for cataloguing is New Zealand public libraries.
Cataloguers at Wheelers are responsible for bibliographic cataloguing, both
copy and original, Dewey classification and assigning fiction genres.
Cataloguing and classification are done according to national and

Kia ora,
ORDAC are seeking feedback on a draft proposal to add options to RDA allowing for the recording of dual-language names, both as corporate bodies and as places, and as the Oceania representative to the RDA Steering Committee (RSC) I'd like your help in making sure we get good community input.
Dual-language naming is increasingly common in our region. This occurs where a corporate body or place is known by a name that includes words from more than one language. Uluru/Ayer's Rock and Aoraki/Mt Cook are identifiable places where the names appear in this form in the relevant gazetteer. While using only part of the name would still be recognisable, the official form is to include both at the same time regardless of which language you are speaking when you use them.
Please do take the time to read the draft proposal document and consider the following questions:
* regardless of whether you would use the added options at your own institution, do they make sense to you or is something unclear/missing?
* do you have any examples from other countries/situations where the same problem occurs?
If you have any feedback, please send it directly to charlotte(a)rdatoolkit.org<mailto:charlotte@rdatoolkit.org> so we can refine this proposal before it is presented to the RSC in 2024.
The proposal can be found here: http://rda-rsc.org/sites/all/files/Consultation%20version%20-%20ORDAC%20RSC…
