The 28th International Conference on Image and Vision Computing New Zealand, IVCNZ 2013, will be held in Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand, located at the southern end of the North Island, nestled between a sparkling harbor and rolling green hills and the city is renowned for its arts, culture and native beauty; relax at Oriental Bay, golden-sand inner-city beach, delve into the many museums and art galleries, and enjoy tucked-away bars, quirky cafes, award-winning restaurants and great coffee. If you’re into the outdoors, Wellington has adventure activities like mountain biking, sea kayaking, and beautiful walks around the harbor and surrounding hills.
The conference will be held in the
Mercure Wellington, on the Terrace. We will be using the Kent and Devon rooms which are on the fourth floor of the hotel. Note that this is
down form the lobby level that is entered from the Terrace.
Be careful as there is a second Mercure hotel in Wellington (on Willis street)!

The conference venue is approximately 20 minute's drive from the airport.
There are a number of ways to get to and from the airport;
- taxi
- airport shuttle (multi-person taxis, aka "door-to-door shuttles"),
- airport flyer (fast bus, but there is no stop particularly close to the conference venue. This might be a useful option if you decide to stay more centrally.

Weather
The
weather in Wellington can be quite variable in November and December. Though on average the weather is mild, it is quite likely that there will be days with high wind and/or rain. Please bring something warm!
